Shark Snacks: Bourbon Balls
In this week’s edition of “Shark Snacks: Tailgating Recipes for Rebels,” we present Bourbon Balls!
When Ole Miss plays ‘Bama, it might be a good idea to keep the bourbon handy. In this case, it isn’t just for drinking. Bourbon Balls are one of my favorite football season treats and not just because the bourbon doesn’t cook out. They are delicious and come together quickly. Remember to refrigerate before serving. Eat plenty of these before kickoff!
HOTTY TODDY!
1 cup Vanilla Wafer crumbs, finely crushed
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup bourbon
2 tbsp light corn syrup
Mix wet ingredients in a small bowl and dry ingredients in another. Then combine, and scoop or roll into balls. (I use a cookie dough scoop.) Place on wax paper on a baking sheet and chill for 2 hours. Makes about 3 dozen balls.
