Four-star WR Van Jefferson commits to Ole Miss!
After a successful recruiting weekend, Ole Miss has landed the nation’s No. 11 wide receiver in Van Jefferson. The Brentwood, TN native had been committed to Georgia since August of last year, but he decided to re-open his recruitment just days before returning to Oxford for an unofficial visit.
Early Sunday morning as recruits were preparing to leave Oxford, multiple media outlets tweeted that Jefferson had committed while on campus, but that could not be confirmed. Later, there were indications Van wanted to talk with his parents (they did not make the trip with him to Oxford) before making the verbal commit official.
The four-star WR is the 18th commit in the 2015 recruiting class and the second commit of the day, as three-star DE Rasool Clemons committed this morning.
With the addition of Clemons and Jefferson, the Rebels move up to No. 13 in the latest recruiting class rankings.
Jefferson holds offers from Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Auburn and more–twenty, to be exact. It’s not known at this time whether or not Van will take any additional recruiting visits.
The 6-foot-2, 180 pounder is your typical target for a wide receiver–tall, excellent route runner, with the ability to change directions fast.
