Four-star WR Dannis Jackson flips from MSU to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. – As had been expected recently, four-star wide receiver Dannis Jackson on Monday took to Twitter and announced he was flipping his commitment from Mississippi State to Ole Miss.

One of the nation’s best

The Sumrall (Miss.) High product is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 19 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Mississippi for the 2019 class. The 6-1, 180-lb Jackson plans to also play baseball for Coach Mike Bianco’s Diamond Rebels.

Though Jackson had widely been anticipated to become an Ole Miss Rebel, he surprised many when he committed to State back in June. However, there were still many rumblings that he might flip to the Red and Blue.

Monday evening, Jackson made it official.

The recruitment process has not always been as easy as I once thought. And I know many won’t understand, but at the end of the day I have to do what’s best for me and follow my heart. With that being said, I have given this much thought and prayer, and I have decided to DECOMMIT from MS State and COMMIT to Ole Miss for football/baseball and shut down my recruitment.

According to 247Sports, Jackson also held offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Memphis, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas and Southern Miss.

Now, Jackson can focus on his upcoming senior season, as he mentioned in his announcement.

My upcoming senior season is approaching and my teammates/coaches deserve my full focus. I’m looking forward to finishing my senior year and beyond excited to be a Rebel. #HottyToddy
