Ole Miss Saturday recruiting wrap-up

Ole Miss Saturday recruiting wrap-up

The February 4th National Signing Day is rapidly approaching. Where are our Rebels headed this recruiting season? Perhaps a top ten ranking is in the works. One thing is certain–Rebels are going to have quite a few players wanting the remaining available scholarships.

As of Saturday, January 24, our Rebel priorities include keeping Drew Richmond, OL;  Leo Lewis, LB; Jason Pellerin, QB; Eric Swinney, RB; Willie Hibbler, TE; Alex Givens, OL; Michael Howard, OL; Armani Linton, S;  Zedrick Woods, S; and, Cameron Ordway, CB.

The most likely additions at this point would seem to be WRs Van Jefferson and DaMarkus Lodge; Athlete Jalen Julius; and DE CeCe Jefferson.

Ole Miss would like to top off the above with a few of the following: TE Jaason Lewis (visiting next weekend and current ASU commit); DT’s Kendrick Norton, Austrian Robinson and Kevin Scott (Scott is visiting next weekend); DE’s Rasool Clemons; LB’s Jeff Holland (long shot but he’s there this weekend and a good friend of CeCe) and Kyahva Tezino (visits next weekend); and CB Montreal Custis.

Rebel fans should not forget that midyear signees already on board include: QB Chad Kelly; OG Javon Patterson; LB Terry Caldwell; DT D. J. Jones and CB Tony Bridges.

This class top to bottom will hold it’s own against that of 2013–and we all KNOW how that has worked out.

It’s GREAT to be a REBEL!

Rex’s attachment to Ole Miss goes back to when his parent’s named him. It seems there was an Ole Miss football player that his dad liked his name so from day one he was destined to have Ole Miss as part of his life. He attended Ole Miss graduating in December, 1974 with a BBA majoring in Accountancy. While he’s lived in three states and a number of cities since then he’s always followed the Rebels in all sports. In 2013 Rex took a big step when he started a podcast, RebelRex, where he fulfilled a dream–talking with Ole Miss athletes, current and past, from all sports.
