Cody Prewitt named AP All-American

The awards keep rolling in for members of the Ole Miss Football team, including Safety Cody Prewitt who was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Prewitt is a native of Bay Springs, Miss. and has already garnered first-team All-American honors from USA Today; second-team All-American honors from Athlon; and Honorable Mention from SI.com.

He has also been named to the All-SEC first team by the AP, ESPN.com, Sporting News, College Sports Madness, and by the SEC coaches.

According to Ole Miss Athletics, Prewitt has started 11 of 12 games this season at free safety. He leads the SEC with six interceptions, and is tied for fourth in the nation. Additionally, Prewitt leads the team with 70 tackles, 13 passes defended, four tackles-for-loss, and two forced fumbles.
